Our Story – How Yarra Ranges Bookkeeping Came to Be
Like many mums, Megan wanted to work, as well as raise her family. She needed the flexibility to be with her children before and after school, and earn a living during school hours.
So, (at the turn of the century, ha haaa) in 2000 when Megan’s son was a toddler, she worked out how to make this happen and gained Cert 4 in Financial Services (Accounting), a Diploma in Payroll Services and became a registered BAS agent. This would enable her to run a home-based bookkeeping business whilst raising her son. With her qualifications under her belt, she set up Yarra Ranges Bookkeeping offering a range of services including BAS preparation, payroll and general bookkeeping to local tradies, sole traders and small businesses in and around Melbourne’s Yarra Valley.
Growing a business
Megan built up a grateful and loyal client base, managing and streamlining their business finances, and, as systems went cloud-based, she took on remote clients too. By 2015, she needed ‘another Megan’ to service the growing client base and joined forces with Rita – the perfect business partner – with her Cert 4 in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) and Diploma in Payroll Services.
Megan and Rita are “living the life” – working flexi hours so they can combine their two passions, career AND family.
